Ice Hockey is most popular in Canada and it is their official national winter sport. McGill University Hockey Club is the first ice hockey club established in the year 1877. Ice Hockey can be played either indoor or outdoors.The first ice hockey indoor game was played at Montreals Victoria Skating Rink and in 1883, the first Ice hockey world championship was featured in Montreals annual Winter Carnival. In 1893 the first ice hockey match was played in Yale University. In 1917 NHL was found and it is the most important league in the world. The winning team is awarded with Stanley Cup Trophy. In 1920 Ice hockey was added to Olympic Games and it the most popular events at the Winter Olympics.
