Justin Boyd Career Statistics

Boyd started swimming at a very young age of 11 at his summer pool. He says he spend much of his first years by playing with the Beacon Hill pool team. "I was really, really slow," Boyd said. "My first year playing, I had trouble keeping up, but I got through it." It was since then that Boyd climbed stairs pretty fast and in no time, he headed to Calgary with the senior men's national team.

2005 after he turned professional wasn't a good year for him. The cadet club nationals was really bad for the powerhouse Dollard des Ormeaux Water Polo's first club club as Boyd did not play up to his potential and they came out a disappointing fourth position. On given a second chance in the Youth Club Nationals, he was to prove himself.

"I knew I was one of the top players at the cadet nationals, but I didn't show it," Boyd said. "So between the cadet and youth nationals, I really turned it up. I practised every night for a month." The hard work paid off really well and playing on DDO's second squad at the youth's nationals, he led his team to the fifth place and was also named to the tournament as all-star team.

In the 2008 Olympics, he finished among the top 10 players. In the Olympic qualifiers also he was ranked 4th. In 2007 in the Pan American Championships he played a superb match and won himself a bronze Medal. He climbed stairs and in the same year itself we won a gold medal for the Junior Nationals.

Boyd also bagged three national titles with Justin Boyd club team, Association Aquatic Dollard Des Ormaux .
