World No. 2 male singles tennis player Novak Djokovic won the 2012 Shanghai Masters tournament in singles event after defeating World No. 3 Andy Murray of Britain in a hard fought final. Andy Murray was also the defending champion of the tournament. The Serbian player was legging behind in the second set after loosing the first set by 5-7. He came back strong and save the match point and win the second set by 7-6. In third set he dominates the British player and won the match and the title - his fifth ATP title this year and 33rd career title. Indian doubles star Leander Paes and Radek Stepanek of Czech Republic defeated the Indian pair of Mahesh Bhupathi and Rohan Bopanna in the final of doubles in 2012 Shanghai Masters. The scoreline reads 6-7,6-3,[10-5] in favor of Paes and Stepanek. The winning pair was seeded fourth for this tournament. The pair defeated Marin Cilic-Marcelo Melo in the semi-final by 6-0,6-2 while Bhupathi-Bopanna went passed the pair of Colin Fleming and Ross Hutchins by 6-7,6-3,[10-8]in the semi-final. It was the 51st doubles title of Leander Paes.
