Yogeshwar Dutt won fifth medal for India in London Olympics

Indian wrestler Yogeshwar Dutt won the fifth medal for India in the London Olympics. He won bronze medal in the 60 kg of men's freestyle wrestling event. After defeating Anatolie Guidea of Bulgaria by 3-1 in the qualification round, Yogeshwar Dutt lost to russian wrestler Besik Kudukhov by 0-3. Kudukhov then went on to win the silver medal in this event after losing to Azerbaijanian wrestler Toghrul Asgarov in the final.

Yogeshwar then competed in the Repechage for bronze medal. He defeated Franklin Gomez of Puerto Rico in the round 1 by 3-0. In second round of Repechage he defeated Masoud Esmaeilpour of Iran by 3-1 and then beats Ri Jong-Myong of North Korea in the Bronze medal bout to win the bronze medal. This is the third medal for India in wrestling in Olympic history. Sushil Kumar won bronze medal in 2008 Bejing Olympics and Khashaba Dadasaheb Jadav (K D Jadav) won the bronze medal in 1952 Olympics.
