Graham Ford becomes the new coach of Sri Lankan Cricket Team


Sri Lankan Cricket Team is facing some big problems in last some tours. Now the Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has appointed Graham Ford as the new coach of Sri Lanka who replaced Geoff Marsh as the coach of the National Cricket Team of Sri Lanka. Here is detailed information about this news.

From the beginning of ODI Triangular series in Australia, former South Arican cricketer Graham Ford will be the Coach of Sri Lankan Cricket Team. He will replace Australia's Geoff Marsh, the current coach of Sri Lanka's team. Ford has also coached the South African Cricket Team for two years from 1999 to 2001 and recently resigned as the coach of South african domestic team The Dolphins. This decision is taken by Sri Lanka Cricket board due to their poor performance in last few series. This is done after the new selection panel was set up by SLC.

Sri Lanka has lost almost every series (ODI or Test) after their great run in 2011 Cricket World Cup where they lost to India in the Final. Now Sri Lanka Cricket Board has appointed Graham Ford as the new Coach of the Sri Lanka'Team and he is very happy to do this job again at International level. Geoff Marsh has coached the Sri Lankan Team in just two tours and was appointed as the coach of the team on September 2011 for two years. Under Marsh, the Sri Lanka team won only one Test out of five Tests. In ODIs, the scenerio is even worse, where they won just two out of nine matches.

Graham Ford's Cricket Career


Graham Ford has not played any International match. But he has played in seven first class matches for Natal B, a domestic team in South Africa. He then become the coach of South African team in 1999 after Bob Woolmer till 2001.
