Virender Sehwag's World Record double century knock of 219 in ODI

The Dashing Indian opening batsman Virender Sehwag made world record double century against West Indies. He becomes the 'Highest Runscorer in an ODI innings' and Quickest Double Century hitter in ODIs.

8/12/2011 It is the day should be printed with diamond letters in the pages of Sehwag's Cricket life because the Swashbuckling Indian opening batsman Virender Sehwag scores World Record knock of 219 of 149 balls against West Indies on 8/12/2011 in Indore .

Abovesaid brilliant knock consists of 25 boundaries and 7 monstrous hits to sixes with the strike rate of 146.9

Earlier of the match Sehwag reached his 50 runs in 36 balls with,He reached his century in just 69 balls,made 150 in 112 balls.He reached his first double ton in 140 balls by scoring a picturesque boundary in the cover.


1)He becomes the Highest ever Runscorer in an innings of ODI by breaking previous record of Sachin Tendulkar's 200 against S.Africa in February 2010.
2)His knock becomes the Quickest Double Century in ODI history by surpassing Sachin Tendulkar's 147 ball knock.
3)He sets a record of 'Highest Runscorer as a Captain' by
eclipsing the Tendulkar's legendary knock of 186.

The Master Blaster made history by making the First Double Century in ODI history and He wanted his record to be eclipsed by an Indian,Sehwag made it in his typical fashion and make every Indian Cricket fan to feel proud.

I think that was a great inning from Sehwag. I always knows that if he can stay on the wicket for 40-50 overs, he can do this. Now he should carry his form to Australia tour and perform consistantly. His long stay on the wicket always benefits the team
