Cricket Career of Australian cricketer David Boon


Started playing for Tasmania in 1978-79, Boon made his International debut in an ODI match against West Indies where he made 39 runs in that match. His Test debut also came against West Indies, where he made 51 runs in the 2nd innings. He was also selected for the Ashes Tour of England in 1985, but can't make a good use of the opportunity and was dropped from the team.

He made his comeback against New Zealand, and made a brilliant 81 runs in the match while chasing. He was then promoted as an opening batsman where he established himself at that position with couple of hundreds in a test series against India.

Boon was in the ODI Team that played in 1987 Cricket World Cup. He scored 447 runs in the tournament and played crucial innings in the Semi-final and Final. In 1991-92 Test series against India he made 556 runs.

who played for Australia , yeah that was David Boon.If AUSTRALIA did very well in the late 70's,80's and early 90's it was due to players like David Boon.His records speak for itself that 'DB' was one of the most successful Aussie batsmen of those days.He formed great a opening pair with other opening batsmen and was instrumental in helping AUSTRALIA to many wins.
