Career of Fernando Verdasco

Fernando Verdasco Carmona born on 15 November 1983 in Madrid, Spain.Verdasco began to play tennis at the age of 4 years . He played with his father José.Verdasco father and her mother Olga runs a restaurant in Madrid. At eight, he began to train with a full-time coach, at 15 he won his first ATP world ranking points and at 17 he turned in professional.Fernando Verdasco reached his first ATP final in 2004 in Acapulco . In the final he defeated his Spanish compatriot Carlos Moyá with 6:3 6:0.Verdasco won in 2004 his first ATP doubles title. He won the final in Stockholm , with Feliciano Lopez 6-4 6-4 against the Australians Arhurs Wayne and Paul Hanley.In October 2004, Verdasco celebrate his first ATP single title. He won the final of the Valencia Open against his compatriot Albert Montanes 7-6 6-3.

In 2005 he moved at the Generali Open in his third ATP final.At St. Petersburg open in 2007 Verdasco reached the final without dropping a single set. On the way to the finals he beat the highly ranked Marin Cilic. That he played brilliant tennis did not help. Verdasco lost the final against Scotsman Andy Murray. But he still ended up on the 27 spot in world ranking.
In 2008 Verdasco won his second ATP title atCroatia Open.

In 2009 at the Australian Open , Fernando Verdasco made a sensation by beating the French Adrian Mannarino (6-0, 6-2, 6-2), Arnaud Clement (6-1, 6-1, 6-2), the Czech Radek Stepanek (6-4, 6-0, 6-0) and especially one of the favorites of the tournament, Andy Murray , whom he defeated in five sets (2-6, 6-1, 1-6, 6-3, 6-4). In the quarterfinals, he defeated Jo-Wilfried Tsonga (7-6, 3-6, 6-3, 6-2). He faces Rafael Nadal in the semifinals and lost in five sets (7-6 4 , 4-6, 6 2 -7, 7-6 1 , 4-6) after 5 h 14 a very intense fight.In 2010 at the Australian Open in January, he defeated the powerful Russian Nikolay Davydenko in the second round in a long match over 5 sets. But on his very next tournament in San Jose he reached the finals, defeating the Americans set at No. 1 Andy Roddick in three sets 3:6, 6:4 and 6:4. This was his fourth in total Individual titles on the ATP World Tour . The European clay court season began for Verdasco very successful when he was in Monte Carlo for the first time the finals of a Masters tournament reached, but where he was beaten by defending champion Rafael Nadal clearly with 6:0 and 6:1.At the next tournament in Barcelona Verdasco won the second title of the season, in the final he defeated thereby Robin Soderling 6-3, 4:6 and 6:3.
