Parupalli Kashyap is an Indian badminton player and currently the top ranked Indian male badminton player. He is also number one ranked Indian player in male singles. Having reach the quarterfinal of the london olympics 2012, he missed to win a medal. But he is very talented player and will do good in future for India. He is No. 21 in world ranking of male singles category. Kashyap is a right handed player. He was born on 8 September, 1986.



Badminton Career of Parupalli Kashyap


Kashyap started playing badminton at the age of eleven. He trains himself at Gopichand Academy. In 2006, he started his professional career. His best performance in that year came at Hong Kong Open where he reached the semi-final of the Bitburger Open. He also make into the semi-final of the Dutch Open. He also become the runners-up of the Spanish Open. Kashyap then won the bronze medal at the 2010 Commonwealth Open held at New Delhi. In 2011, he reached his highest ranking of World No. 20 in male singles category.

Kashyap at London Olympics 2012


Kashyap missed to win the medal at London Olympics after losing in the quartefinal of the male singles event to number one seed malaysian badminton player Lee Chong Wei. He performed very good in the earlier stages of the event before losing in the quarter-final.
