Cricket Career
He made his first class debut in 1990-91 season while playing for Western Australia. He shows the sign of a very good batsman in the season and as a reward, got call in the National Team. He made his International Test and ODI debut against West Indies in 1992. But it was the Ashes Tour of 2001, where he made his first hundred at Edgbaston to secure a regular place in the Test Team.

2004/05 was the best period of Damien Martin's Test Career, where he was Man of the Series against India, where Australia won the series by 2-1. It was Australia's first Series win in Tests in India over last 30 years. He then continued his good performance in Test Matches against Pakistan and New Zealand.
ODI Cricket
Damien Martin was also a regular member of the Australian ODI Team after 2000. He played a major role in the World Cup 2003 winning team, where he scored an unbeaten 87 runs in the Final against India. His Batting average of above 40 in ODIs proves him a good ODI batsman.

Martin got retired from all type of Cricket in 2006. He the played in ICL (Indian Cricket League) for Ahmedabad Rockets in 2008. In 2010, he was signed by Rajasthan Royals to play in the IPL 2010.

Looking at his record , Mr Damien Martin is one of the successful batsmen in Australian cricket.
Can we have career profiles of successful India batsmen too like
Di lip vegsarkar, Ravi Shastri ,Krish srikkanth etc who represented India and gave some useful contributions too.
