Career of Janko Tipsarevic


Janko Tipsarevic born on 22 June 1984 in Belgrade,Serbia. Tipsarevic won nine challenger tournaments in his career (one level below ATP tournaments), and two futures tournaments (two levels lower than ATP tournaments). He also won the youth tournament of the 2001 Australian Open. In the world ranking in singles is the second Serb Tipsarevic after Novak Djokovic.

Tipsarevic won a junior tournament in the junior Australian Open in 2001 and reached the quarterfinals of Roland Garros in 2001 , he closed this year as number two at the junior world rankings. In 2001 Tipsarevic his debut for the Yugoslavian Davis Cup team , he earned three points against Poland . That same year he won his first futures title.

In 2003 made Tipsarevic at the ATP tournament in Indianapolis debut at an ATP tournament. He knew immediately reach the second round, but lost this by Yevgeny Kafelnikov. Immediately after this tournament through the qualifying Tipsarevic knew the main event of the U.S. Open to reach, but lost this by the number twenty and placed Australian Mark Philippoussis.
In the years following this did Tipsarevic through the qualification tournament for the first time the head of Roland Garros and Wimbledon to reach, but lost in both tournaments in the first round.

In 2005 fifteen Tipsarevic ATP tournaments played and managed for the first time to penetrate into the world top 100. At Wimbledon knew Tipsarevic to reach the third round, his best performance so far at a Grand Slam tournament. However, he was defeated by Thomas Johansson.

Tipsarevic played since May 2007 only at ATP level in that year he reached the third round at Roland Garros and the quarterfinals at the ATP tournament in Rosmalen . At Wimbledon Tipsarevic achieved his best Grand Slam performance to date, quarter round.

In 2008 the third round of the Australian Open Tipsarevic forcing Roger Federer to five-setter (7-6, 6-7, 7-5, 1-6, 10-8). Thanks to this performance did Tipsarevic its highest position in the world to reach the 33rd. At Wimbledon knew Tipsarevic in the second round 6-7 (5), 7-5, 6-4, 7-6 (4) from Andy Roddick to win in the eighth finals, however, he was eliminated by Rainer Schuettler in a four-setter .

Tipsarevic started the year 2010 with a semifinal in Chennai, where he lost to Marin Cilic. At the Australian Open he lost in the second round of Tommy Haas in five sets. The Masters-Indian Wells and Miami tournaments he lost respectively Thiemo de Bakker and Philipp Petzschner. He lost at Roland Garros in the first round of Alejandro Falla. In preparation for Wimbledon, he took the first year that a final place in Den Bosch. Wimbledon went less well, where he lost the first round of the Frenchman Arnaud Clement. After Wimbledon, he reached a semifinal in Los Angeles and a quarterfinal in Washington, where he or lost to Sam Querrey and Marin Cilic. At the U.S. Open made him the second round for a smashing surprise by Andy Roddick to beat, but the round after he lost to Gael Monfils. He ended the year with Serbia by the Davis Cup win. Self lost his singles match to Gael Monfils.
