Is Zaheer still fit for T20 cricket ? Or is he a burden in the Indian T20 squad ?

Inspite of Mahendra Singh Dhoni's recent comments mentioning Zaheer as the 'Sachin of Indian bowling', the veteran's performances in T20s has been rather disappointing. The selectors showed confidence in selecting him ahead of youngsters like Umesh Yadav. Zaheer's fitness has always been a source of trouble for him as well as the Indian team. With such points in mind, wouldn't it be a better option to keep Zaheer solely for Test and ODI cricket? In doing so, we can effectively reach two targets simultaneously:
(1)Preserving the best of Zaheer's lethal form for the longer formats of the game.
(2)Creating space for promising talents like Umesh Yadav in the T20 team.
Remember, India won the inaugural edition of the T20 World Cup in 2007, on the back of brilliant performances by youngsters like R.P.Singh, Rohit Sharma and Sreesanth. Hence, it seems more logical to let the youngsters take charge of Inida's campaigns in T20s from now on.

    Hi Debotosh,

In the last super eight match against South Africa, Jaheer Khan proved that he is a champion bowler whatever format of the game is. But I still agree with you that he should focus only on ODIs and Tests. This will be beneficial for him to maintain his fitness level and form. And making way for youngsters like Ashok Dinda, Umesh Yadav, Varun Aaron, Shami Ahmed and Awana.
